St Mary's CE VC Infant School

St Mary’s is a happy, high achieving Church of England school, with a strong Christian ethos and an excellent reputation within the local community. The school includes a highly regarded integrated complex needs resource base.

Marlborough is a vibrant, thriving market town, set in a beautiful location between Savernake forest and the downs of rural Wiltshire. The town enjoys a colourful and interesting history and retains the pleasant and friendly characteristics it has possessed for many years. These local factors provide wonderful resources for children’s education.

St. Mary’s serves both the town of Marlborough and the neighbouring village of Mildenhall. The school was built to an open-plan design in 1975, and was improved and updated in 2004. It has extensive landscaped grounds, incorporating two large playgrounds and many other play areas. We have a dedicated, hardworking and caring staff who are committed to helping children achieve their potential.

We have a thriving PTA  - The ‘Friends of St Mary’s School’ organise fundraising and social events for parents, staff and children. The governing body is energetic, and works closely with both staff and parents for the benefit of the pupils.

We believe that a strong home/school relationship is one of the keys to the school’s success. Parents are extremely supportive of the school and its objectives and our last Ofsted inspection praised the excellent relationships between the school and parents, saying:

‘Partnerships with parents, carers and outside agencies are outstanding and have a significant impact on the school's success’.

Questionnaires also show that parents are very happy with their children’s education:

“My child has settled into school brilliantly and this is due to the care and attention given by the teachers and assistants. She enjoys the school and has learnt far more than I could have dreamed in the two terms she has been there. I cannot rate the school and staff highly enough.Thank you”
