St Mary’s CE VC Infant School

St Mary’s Infant School is centrally located in the market town of Marlborough.  It is an attractive well-resourced school with lovely children and excellent behaviour.

The school comprises seven classes which includes a Complex Needs Resource Base for Reception/KS1 children with complex learning difficulties.  Every class is supported by a full time teaching assistant. The school offers a skilled teaching force, well-motivated children, and supportive parents and governors.

The school prides itself on its rich curriculum and the embedding of Assessment for Learning in daily practice.  We follow vibrant, whole school projects as a way of motivating and uniting the school.  Exciting cross curricula themes are chosen as contexts for learning.  Special weeks, days, visits and visitors are planned to enrich learning e.g. during our project on Castles the whole school was invited to our Medieval Banquet.

St. Mary’s is a Church of England, voluntary controlled school and has strong links with St. Mary’s Church. We receive regular visits from clergy based in different parishes within the town.

Our last Ofsted inspection was in March 2015 where the school was rated outstanding in all areas.
